Think of a Happy Place
I just ran across this adorable picture of Micky sleeping and I got all excited because I was inspired to write a post about how peaceful he can be, or some peaceful time in the household, or ways to relax, or something along that strain.
Of course, as I was attaching the picture, with all these lovely thoughts floating through my head . . . Emily and Micky suddenly decided to jump off the couch, throw pillows and smack each other. I gave them a warning. Five seconds later a sliothar (very similar to a baseball) slammed into the wall and Emily and Micky erupted into difiant laughter.
"Alright guys. Up to your room."
They went, pretty willingly, but Emily decided to sass on her way up and throw her big stuffed dog down claiming she "didn't want it!"
"Okay, Emily. Leave it there then."
By the time we got to their rooms, Emily had (not surprisingly) changed her mind. She wanted the dog back. Too late.
So at this moment, rather than waxing poetic about the peaceful slumber of little children, I am trying to drown out the merciless combination of screaming whines coming from Emily's room and mournful wails from Micky's.
Maybe I will put my headphones in, play a lullaby full blast, and just stare really hard at this picture.
I'll let you know how that goes. . .
Think of a happy place. Think of a happy place. Think of a happy place.
